Brad Day – Founder and Managing Editor
Weekend Sherpa was founded by Brad Day, a native Californian who grew up hiking, biking, skiing, and whitewater rafting throughout the Golden State. He and his team have a blast exploring the Bay Area's backyard and sharing their experiences with you each week. Brad's favorite secluded beach to relax for an afternoon? Kirby Cove in the Marin headlands.

Don George – Senior Editorial Adviser
Award-winning writer and editor Don George has wandered to more than 70 countries. He's been the travel editor at the San Francisco Examiner & Chronicle and at Salon.com, and the global travel editor for Lonely Planet. He's published seven books and appears frequently as a travel expert on TV, on radio, in print, and in person. Don's favorite Bay Area overnight escape? Spending the night in a yurt down in Big Sur.

Bryce Hubner – Contributing Editor
A regular contributor to Ski Racing magazine, Aspen, Colorado, native Bryce Hubner has spent his life ascending, traversing, and skiing mountain ranges around the world. Bryce arrived in the Bay Area by way of guiding backpacking and fly fishing in the Sierras — and though he's been just about everywhere from the Andes to the Alps, Bryce maintains there's no better place than the Ansel Adams Wilderness

Andrew Nelson – Contributing Editor
Andrew Nelson loves California. He's traveled all over the world and just can't get enough of this great state. "This place is such a playground. We really are spoiled," he says. Andrew is also a contributing editor at National Geographic Traveler. He travels all over the country lecturing on travel writing. His favorite East Bay hike? Going to Little Yosemite Valley in Sunol Regional Wilderness.

Holly Kulak – Editorial and Marketing Adviser
Holly Kulak migrated to Northern California from Northern Canada to work in strategic marketing at Salon.com. She has since produced and marketed events for the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR), The Learning Annex, and San Francisco magazine. Holly's worked an Alaskan winter and a Floridian spring, but she keeps her heart in San Francisco. Her favorite place to mountain bike? Boggs Mountain in Lake County.

Jennica Peterson – Copyeditor
Editor and writer Jennica Peterson has lived in Yosemite, Yellowstone, Tahoe, Florida, Nebraska, and Alaska. She's also traveled to more than 30 countries. But the Bay Area is her favorite place to call home. Her writing has been published in Sunset, VIA, Sport Diver, Islands, National Geographic Traveler, and several Travelers' Tales anthologies. On weekends you can often find her hiking in the hills above Berkeley in Tilden Park.

Taylor Pipes – Roaming Researcher Intern
Taylor Pipes packed all of his belongings into his truck after graduating college in Wisconsin in 2002 and hasn't looked back since (except for those nationally televised Packer games). The allure of California's mountains, skiing, deserts, and ocean was too much to pass up, and now he is satisfying a dream by spending the summer writing about them. Taylor has authored a book, has numerous experiences in broadcast journalism, and is currently attending the University of California, Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. When he isn't studying or researching, he enjoys a frosty German pilsner at the Tourist Club.

Loren Newman – Roaming Researcher Intern
A native of the Napa Valley, Loren has spent the past 20 years barnstorming the natural bounty of the far west via boat, bike, and even birch-bark canoe, bellowing "Eureka" the whole way. While primarily a runner, Loren enjoys nearly all manifestations of adventure including backpacking, biking, as well as occasional trespassing. Loren's day job is double-majoring in English and Political Science at Stanford. His favorite endorphin rush? The Dipsea Trail.
