Henry Coe State Park. As the largest state park in Northern California, Henry Coe is a rugged slice of open space in the Diablo Range east of Morgan Hill. Take a short bike ride on one of its dirt fire roads, or roll through some challenging singletrack.
Portola Redwoods State Park. The shy little sister to Big Basin State Park, Portal Redwoods is the uncrowded gem of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Wherever you roam, you can't go wrong. We recommend combining the Coyote Ridge Trail and Tarwater Loop for a walk among giant redwoods.
Tomales Bay State Park. Just say ahh, and relax at one of Tomales Bay State Park's pocket beaches, adjacent to Point Reyes National Seashore. If you love oysters, get them fresh at nearby Drake's Bay Oyster Farm and grill 'em up at one of the best sand spots, Heart's Desire Beach.
