1) Do the Wave: Track the curious case of the Wave Organ by following your ears to a jetty behind the Golden Gate Yacht Club; the music-maker, made from 25 pipes, plays as Bay waves ebb and flow. More waves means more music.
2) Bronze Mettle: Be a tourist in your own city by following the hubcap-sized bronze medallions on the Barbary Coast Trail's 3.8-mile walk through icons of San Francisco.
3) Glen's a 10: Take a walk on the wild side at Glen Canyon's namesake open space, where rugged outcroppings, soaring red-tailed hawks, and eucalyptus trees make it a wondrous wilderness preserve within city limits.
4) Berry Good Views: Hike to the top of a little island, Strawberry Hill in Golden Gate Park, passing a waterfall along the way. There are no strawberries at the summit, but you will be rewarded with stellar views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge.
5) Weekend at Bernal's: Okay, it won't take the whole weekend, but Bernal Heights is an afternoon delight; this pocket park is packed with greenery, and its views rival those of nearby Twin Peaks.
All of these city walks are dog-friendly!
