Angels and Demons

Playing host this month? Most visitors arrive thinking only about bedeviled, bad-ass Alcatraz, but nearby is an oft-neglected slice of heaven: Angel Island, a serene golden escape in the middle of the Bay. Can't decide which to choose—the devil on one shoulder or the angel on the other? You're in luck. Through the end of August, an Alcatraz & Angel Island Combo Tour is offered from San Francisco's Pier 33. This limited-time trip balances an exploration of the histories and mysteries of eerie Alcatraz with a panoramic 60-minute tram tour of wide-open Angel Island. It's a six-hour island-hop that serves up a yin-yang experience your guests will long remember.

The Alcatraz-Angel Island Combo Tour only goes until Sept. 1. Tickets are $56.50 per person.
