Friday Night Skate in San Francisco

Friday Night Skate San Francisco

From the issue Get Your Freak On

Let the Ghoul Times Roll

Remember the eighties? Lacing up the roller skates, sporting the cut-off jean shorts, and pumping down the sidewalk singing Starship's "We Built This City." Guess what — city skating is back. Wheel-spinning squadrons gather every Friday at Ferry Plaza by 9:00 p.m., and tomorrow's Halloween skate is their night to shine. Led by David "D" Miles, the "Godfather of Skating," this rolling party blasts dance music as they fly through the Marina, Pac Heights, into the tunnels, and down to Union Square (with pit stops along the way to let stragglers catch up). Break out those cut-offs, and skate like it's 1986! Now that's gettin' your freak on.
