Apres Reno

How Do You Après?

Après Spots in Reno Tahoe

Après all day? Hey, in Reno Tahoe, anything goes! But if you insist on skiing, skating, or snow tubing first—well, of course you do! Reno Tahoe is one of the best places on the planet for snow adventures of all kinds, like Disco Tubing (think disco lights on snow, live DJ music, and you—sliding down the hill to the tunes).

World-class ski resorts are within 30 minutes of Reno. So however you spend the day on the slopes, you’ll find your Après everywhere.

Choose from the warm outdoor firepits at places like Grand Sierra Resort (*check ahead for the outdoor rink's opening date), or stroll to bars and restaurants lining the Reno Riverwalk.

We like the cozy and casual vibe at The Lodge Bar & Patio. Grab a seat on their outdoor patio with views of Mount Rose and the surrounding Sierra, or sit fireside inside, next to an impressive library wall of world wines.

There’s an event here almost every evening, from live music to comedy sets. You can also make it a morning visit with Yoga and Mimosas followed by Sip & Shop. By sip, we mean anything from a Lavender Latte or Hugo Spritz, to drafts on tap or in the can. For food, we highly recommend the Grilled Cheddar Cheese Panini and Everything Pizza.

Reno’s downtown Brewery District is firmly on the must-map, with places like Record Street Brewing (scratch-made pizza and pints are a popular pairing), The Depot, housed in a historic railway headquarters, and Black Rabbit Mead Co., for those who like cider-style libations.

In neighboring Sparks, Great Basin Brewing Co. is well worth a stop for food and drinks. The building’s cool, the staff is friendly, and of course the beer is excellent, a true testament to why Great Basin is Nevada’s most award-winning brewery (16 medals at the Great American Beer Festival and 9 at the World Beer Cup).

It’s not just the beer here that’s great—the food is also delicious and sustainably sourced (try the French onion soup and anything on the menu that includes fried chicken). Pair it with the iconic Icky IPA or try a seasonal brew like the blueberry lemon sour Mystic Voyage.
