Force of Nature

Experience San Francisco's Salesforce Park in SOMA

Finally, “pardon our dust” has turned into “enjoy our park!” San Francisco’s Salesforce Park in SOMA is a beautiful urban escape surrounded by skyscrapers.

What do you wanna do? Because this four blocks of wonderment has some really cool stuff! You can lounge at a café table or have a “walking meeting” (very popular here).

The park showcases over 50 species of trees and over 230 species of understory plants. You’ll pass by most of the gardens on the meandering trail that goes around the perimeter of the park.

Pick up a Garden Guide and explore 12 gardens, including the Bamboo Grove, Japanese Maples, Australian Garden, and Fog Garden.

Take a moment to smell the Lavender Garden, relax under the Palm Garden or enjoy the Cloud Forest.

There are a ton of organized programs happening in the park too: from weekly Zumba to meditation or bootcamp (no pre-registration required, just show up!). Family Sunday Fun Day happens on the Central Lawn through October 27 this year; there’s Thursdays on Vinyl, DJ classes, and even salsa and dancing monthly, on second Fridays.

Like many good things, the park is a work in progress, so there’s more to come. Way to use the force!
