Stroll and Enjoy Poplar Beach in Half Moon Bay

Driving west on Highway 1 is one of the most beautiful coastal journeys on the planet. Beach-hopping bliss abounds here, with many to choose from.

Take a stroll and catch the surf scene from the bluffs above popular beaches or get your feet in the sand at sublime spots like Poplar Beach in Half Moon Bay.

Park at the end of Poplar Road and wander the multi-use Half Moon Bay Coastal Trail or take the stairway down to the beach itself. Volleyball nets are ready for a set or two, and there's plenty of room to roam, beachcomb, or settle onto a piece of driftwood and soak up the salty ocean breezes and sunshine.
